An angle valve, also referred to as an angular stop cock, corner valve, or shut-off angle valve, is a plumbing fixture that is commonly used for managing the flow of water or other fluids within a plumbing system. Its distinctive L-shaped design features an inlet and an outlet oriented at a 90-degree angle to each other, which explains the “angle” designation. These valves are typically installed at corners or bends in water supply lines, hence the name “angular stop cock”. Angle valves are designed to control the flow of liquids, gases, and slurries in piping systems. While these valves traditionally used to come with multi-turn handles, they have evolved significantly and now tend to feature a distinctive quarter-turn handle, making them easily recognisable.
